ACM Sig Multimedia MissionDocument ActionsSIGMM provides a forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners in all aspects of multimedia computing, communication, storage, and applications.
Multimedia goes beyond just text and images to include continuous media (e.g., audio, video, and animation). It is an interdisciplinary field with research collaboration with SIGOPS, SIGCOMM, SIGGRAPH, SIGCHI, and signal processing researchers. SIGMM is chartered as a conference-only SIG. Most of the effort and energy is related to the Annual International Conference on Multimedia, along with other conferences which are supported and/or sponsored by SIGMM. The other activities will center around the web site and the mailing list to provide collections of resources for practitioners and researchers. | |
