Joining and leaving mm-interest@acm.org, and posting rules.

The mailing list mm-interest@acm.org is an open list for researchers interested in the SIG Multimedia. Members can leave the list at any time, but joining the list requires a moderator's action. Joining and leaving the list is done through a web form that can be found here: http://listserv.acm.org/scripts/wa.exe?SUBED1=mm-interest&A=1 .

You post to the mailing list by sending to mm-interest@acm.org or by using the posting form here: http://listserv.acm.org/scripts/wa.exe?P1&L=mm-interest.

The mailing list archives can be found here: http://listserv.acm.org/scripts/wa.exe?A0=mm-interest

The list is meant as a forum for announcements of interest to the SIG Multimedia community but also open for discussions among list members. All postings have to be confirmed by senders. Moderation is currently not very strict; the amount of traffic on the mailing list is low enough for the time being.

Open discussions of SIGMM-related topics is encouraged. However, repeated complaints by several list members about offending behavior will result in indefinite removal from the mailing list.

Rules for call-for-paper posting are as follows:

  • Events must at least have applied for establishing a relation to ACM, be it through sponsoring, co-sponsoring, or cooperation agreement.
  • Only one call-for-papers and one call-for-participation per event.

Rules for job postings:

  • Research positions in a field with a clear relation to multimedia only.
  • Absolutely no postings by agents. The posting must originate from the potential employer, the employer must be clearly stated and there must not be any agent fee.
